Development Videos Worth Watching #1

Hello there! Happy New Years Eve! In this new blog series, I want to share a few web development videos that I’ve found in the world of web development and programming. These videos have been inspiration lately and I hope they inspire you as well!

Here are a few videos that I’ve found:

Adam Wathan’s Laracon EU 2016 Talk

Adam talks about refactoring your code with Laravel collections and even shows how to code without if statements or for loops. Definitely an interesting talk. Learned a lot from this video and I got into using Laravel collections in my projects.

Learning functional programming with JavaScript

The Laracon video above got me into learning about functional programming and lead me to find this talk by Anjana Vakil. Very informative talk on functional programming. Changes the way you think.

More functional programming!

Computerphile is an amazing channel! Love watching their videos and “nerd-ing” out! In this video they interviewed John Hughes, a member of the team that created Haskell!

More Computerphile! Sega Game Coding in Assembly

Another video from Computerphile! They interview Matt Phillips who is developing a game for a Sega gaming console in Assembly. Blows my mind, as I really love games, I even play casino games in the olympic kingsway casinos all the time.

Can you still make money in web development? (by Michael Thomas)

I actually stumbled onto this video by accident. This was a very motivational and informative video for me even though I’m not primarily a freelancer. This guy is pretty awesome and I totally like what he has to say!

Closing Points

That’s just a few of the videos I’ve been watching lately. I hope this list inspires you as much as it inspired me! 🙂 I have everyone has a great new year!

Cheers and happy coding!
